Call for input into current trading arrangement with Switzerland

The Department for International Trade (DIT) is seeking views on a new enhanced trade deal with Switzerland.

These views will help inform an approach to start negotiations for a free trade agreement (FTA) with Switzerland in the future.

UK businesses currently benefit from a trade deal with Switzerland but an enhanced deal will aim to boost trade measures including breaking down barriers and opening up access for UK firms to the Swiss market.

Ahead of agreeing a UK mandate for these negotiations, the Department for International Trade is seeking input from members of the public, businesses, and other interested stakeholders to inform the negotiation objectives and an understanding of the economic, environmental and social impacts of a bespoke FTA with Switzerland.

Respond to the consultation.

To assist stakeholders in Northern Ireland’s who are considering responding to DIT’s call for input, the Department for the Economy have provided statistical analysis on Northern Ireland’s global trade and investment with Switzerland.
