Need a bespoke privacy notice for your small organisation?

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has replaced its privacy notice template with a quick and easy generator tool to help you create a bespoke privacy notice in just a few simple steps.

This brand new tool has been designed for sole traders and start-ups, as well as small and medium-sized businesses and charities to help ensure your organisation complies with the law.

The tool has two versions:

• for customer and supplier information
• for staff and volunteer information

The tool will create a privacy notice you can use in your organisation in just 10-15 minutes. Alternatively, you can use it to check if your existing privacy notice is robust and up to date.

In summer 2024, the ICO will launch new sector-specific versions of the privacy notice generator for customer and supplier information. These will be for the professional services, education and childcare, health and social care, and charity and voluntary sector.
