Building Futures Programme

Summary:

This programme aims to help women turn their creative ideas into a small business.

Eligibility criteria:

This free programme is for women who are not currently in employment. This includes women:

  • on a career break
  • rurally isolated
  • carrying out a caring role
  • with a long-term illness or disabilities
  • lacking in confidence due to life circumstances or education

Programme applicants must:

  • be over 18 years of age
  • be a resident of Northern Ireland
  • not currently be in employment

This programme is targeted, but not limited, towards women who live in the greater Belfast area or rural areas in Newry, Mourne and Down council area.
 

Additional information:

Through group and individual learning, experienced business owners will take attendees through mini 'Boss for a day' workshops on aspects of developing a business idea:

  • Gain the skills to make money
  • Create a business idea
  • Understand marketing and selling
  • Learn how to manage income
  • Get to grips with the legal side of business
  • Connect with local business owners

The programme will run from Wednesday 7 September to 23 October. Another programme will commence on Tuesday 15 October, and end on 3 December 2024.
