Amplifying Imagination - AI in the Creative Industries

News article

Amplifying Imagination is a 16-week acceleration programme targeted at applicants from the creative industry community, including developers, creative studios, startups, and scaleups

Those who apply successfully will explore innovative artificial intelligence (AI) solutions optimising creative approaches or processes, specifically addressing industry challenges related to the capture, creation, delivery, or evaluation of experiences.

Funded by UKRI Strength in Places, Digital Catapult is leading this open innovation call as part of the MyWorld programme, aiming to deliver innovation-led growth in the West of England.

Although the programme is focused on the West of England region, this challenge call welcomes applications from UK registered businesses who are outside the region but can demonstrate impact in the West of England.

The programme is inviting applications from startups, scaleups, creative studios and developers who work in the creative sectors, areas include but are not limited to:

  • broadcast, film, TV, video and audio
  • gaming
  • live events, music, performing and visual arts
  • advertising and marketing
  • design: product, graphic and fashion
  • sports and esports
  • architecture
  • heritage

The challenge presents an opportunity to apply for £50,000 of funding to address commercial industry-led challenges in partnership with partners Amazon Web Services and BBC, as well as an opportunity for companies to explore their own challenges.

Applications open on Monday 19 February 2024 and close on Monday 25 March.
