News article

Businesses can apply for a share of up to £994,000

Funded by the Department for Education, this competition aims to develop solutions which use generative artificial intelligence (AI) to support teachers with formative assessment, such as tracking student progress and providing feedback.

These tools must support high quality education through evidence-based teaching and learning approaches. They must also align with relevant standards such as the National Curriculum or Early Years Foundation Stages).

Projects can apply for funding ranging from £50,000 to £200,000, inclusive of VAT. Successful applicants will gain access to a library of educational content and code optimised for use with large language models.

There may be a potential for future funding to allow successful projects that progress to piloting and testing in real-world conditions. Only those successful in this round will be invited to future funding opportunities.

The deadline for applications is 11am on 9 October 2024.
