Cyber Security Awareness Month, observed every October, is a global initiative aimed at highlighting the importance of online safety for individuals, businesses and organisations.
This year's theme, Secure Our World, emphasises that protecting digital lives is a collective responsibility. Cyber threats, including hacking, phishing scams, and ransomware, are on the rise, making it essential for everyone to take proactive measures.
Simple actions such as creating strong passwords, regularly updating software, and enabling two-factor authentication - as well as other common cyber security measures - can significantly enhance online security for both personal and business accounts.
Throughout October, various experts and organisations will offer guidance through webinars, events and informative content to help individuals and businesses recognise and mitigage cyber risks.
Notably, the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) will actively share resources via their website and social media platforms during the #CyberMonth2024 campaign to promote the importance of cyber resilience.
