Initiative to develop budding playwright talent

The Millennium Forum is inviting aspiring playwrights from the North West of Ireland to participate in its playwriting initiative, marking the theatre's upcoming 25th anniversary.

Open to anyone aged 16 and over, this two-year project offers local writers the chance to develop their ideas and have their work performed on the Millennium Forum stage.

Led by acclaimed Irish playwright Brian Foster, whose work has been showcased internationally, the scheme will guide participants through script development over a six-to-eight-month period.

One script will be chosen for a full production as part of the theatre's anniversary celebrations in 2026. The selected playwright will also receive a £3,000 commission to assist with the final development of the piece.

Submissions, including a one-page synopsis and the first six pages of the script, are due by 5pm on 18 October 2024.
