Funding for life and health sciences innovation in NI
Round 2 of Launchpad funding for NI life and health sciences is now open
Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation, has teamed up with Invest Northern Ireland to offer up to £4.3 million in funding for innovation projects.
This funding, through round 2 of Innovate UK's Launchpad programme, aims to support economic growth in Northern Ireland's life and health sciences sector.
The programme has two competition strands:
- De Minimis or Minimal Financial Assistance (MFA) strand: Offers £25,000 to £100,000 for individual businesses.
- Collaborative research and development (CR&D) strand: Offers £150,000 to £1 million for collaborative projects.
Eligible projects must focus on innovation in the life and health sciences and contribute to the growth of the sector in Northern Ireland. Businesses can apply for either strand, but projects must be separate and distinct.
Projects can cover areas like diagnostics, medical devices, digital health, and healthcare service delivery. You must submit applications to the correct strand, as you won't be able to transfer them after submission.
