Join Innovate UK's Global Business Innovation Programme (GBIP) to explore ocean technology sector opportunities in Canada

Up to 15 innovative UK businesses will be selected to participate in this programme, which consists of:

  • a preparation phase in the UK
  • a tailored innovation visit to Canada
  • follow-up support from an Innovate UK Business Growth specialist

The innovation visit to Canada includes a bespoke two-day programme in St John's Newfoundland and Labrador, and participation at H2O: Home to Overseas Conference and Exhibition, Canada's premier event for ocean technology sector.

This GBIP programme is particularly relevant for businesses in the areas of:

  • aquaculture
  • fisheries
  • marine energy
  • marine environmental monitoring
  • marine net zero
  • marine observations
  • marine robotics
  • marine transportation
  • ocean plastics

The focus is on key technologies with marine applications including, but not limited to:

  • alternative energy
  • aquaculture systems
  • autonomous vessels
  • fishery processes and management
  • ocean sensors
  • robotics and drones
  • vessel design and manufacture

Successful participants will get a chance to explore ocean technology opportunities in Canada, gain a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities of doing business in Canada, find potential innovation collaborators and improve their company value proposition to international partners and investors.

The deadline for applications is Sunday 24 March 2024.
