Innovate UK invites UK businesses to join its latest Global Business Innovation Programme (GBIP) in New York. The programme is aimed at businesses developing innovative clean growth technologies.

Focus areas include:

• smart city solutions for urban development
• smart grid utility solutions for a de-carbonised grid
• renewable energy (geothermal, offshore wind, hydrogen, solar)
• clean transportation (electric and low-emission vehicles, EV charging)
• advanced buildings (energy efficiency, smart controls)
• waste management (circular economy, organic waste solutions)
• agritech (crop analytics, urban sustainable farming)
• carbon capture and utilisation (net-zero and carbon-negative products)
• climate finance (finance solutions, insurance innovation, carbon markets)

Why New York?

New York has ambitious goals to address energy, water, waste, infrastructure, transportation, and resiliency challenges. The state targets 100% zero-emission electricity by 2040, focusing on offshore wind, energy storage, and efficiency. These efforts are supported by the state's Clean Energy Fund and Green Bank, making New York an ideal location for clean growth innovation.

New York Climate Week

Climate Week NYC, held from 22 to 29 September 2024, is an annual event showcasing climate action and bringing together leaders from business, government, and various sectors. It features over 600 events, including panel discussions, workshops, exhibitions, and networking opportunities, all aimed at promoting climate change mitigation efforts. Participating in Climate Week NYC offers a unique platform to engage with industry leaders, learn about innovative climate strategies, and present your clean growth solutions on a global stage.
