Explore global innovation opportunities in agri-tech with New Zealand

Innovate UK is calling for innovative UK businesses to apply to its latest Global Business Innovation Programme (GBIP) in New Zealand.

The programme is aimed at companies developing agri-tech solutions, specifically technologies for reducing agricultural methane emissions and land and soil management.

Why New Zealand?

New Zealand is renowned for its strong agricultural heritage and commitment to agri-tech innovation. Following earlier GBIP programmes from 2022 and 2023, New Zealand and the UK have formed a strong partnership in this field.

In 2022, the countries signed an agreement to boost research and development collaboration between the two markets, followed by a mutually beneficial, comprehensive free trade agreement. By 2023, both nations joined Horizon Europe, allowing their industries and researchers to collaborate on agricultural projects through this European funding programme.

Why should you apply?

Participating in this GBIP will allow you to showcase UK-leading technologies in agri-tech, improve your company's value proposition, and explore business opportunities in New Zealand.

You will also have the opportunity to:

  • join preparatory workshops in the UK
  • take part in a 10-day country visit focused on relevant agri-tech innovation
  • participate in a follow-up exploitation workshop
  • receive support from an Innovate UK Innovation and Growth Specialist

If you are looking to build collaborations and expand your business in the New Zealand market, you can join the applicant briefing on 22 August 2024 to learn more.

The deadline for applications to the programme is 1 September 2024.
