Get involved in European Week for Waste Reduction 2024

Can your business take action on waste prevention, reuse or recycling and help to raise awareness?

The European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) is an international campaign aiming to raise awareness about waste prevention. Businesses can contribute to EWWR by taking waste reduction actions within their own workplace and operations, and also by spreading the message about waste reduction to their staff, customers, suppliers, partners and local community.

This year EWWR will take place between 16 and 24 November 2024, but your business can get involved now to start planning and taking actions.

The actions carried out under EWWR address the three 'Rs':

  • reducing waste
  • reusing products
  • recycling materials

To take part you simply have to register on the EWWR and log actions which your business is taking. The EWWR website also has tips and suggestions for actions you can take, resources such as awareness posters to encourage staff and customers to take part, and you can also apply for EWWR Awards.

Your actions can be across any form of waste, but this year's theme for EWWR is tackling food waste, as at a global level, one third of all food produced for human consumption is wasted. You can find suggestions on this topic and many more on the EWWR website.

Register your actions now for European Week for Waste Reduction 2024.
