Opportunity for fashion and textile businesses

The Innovate UK Textile Fund is now open for applications. This fund is part of the £15 million UK Research and Innovation Circular Fashion and Textile Programme.

This initiative aims to support UK textile businesses in adopting sustainable practices. It involves collaboration between industry and academia to find solutions for circular fashion and textiles, helping the UK transition towards net zero models.

Projects funded will be led by industry partners and supported by academic experts from the University of Leeds, University of Huddersfield, and the Royal College of Art in London.

Grants will be awarded to projects focusing on themes such as:

  • circular business models
  • novel technologies
  • sustainable manufacturing
  • sustainable fashion ecosystem
  • diverse and future-proof workforce
  • green growth

Eligible projects must last between four to six months and have total costs of £50,000 or less. Projects must start by 1 October 2024 and finish by 31 March 2025.

To apply, businesses must:

  • be based in the UK
  • have textile design or manufacturing as their core business, or offer an innovative application relevant to these industries
  • have an annual turnover of at least £50,000
  • be established since at least 1 March 2023

Full applications must be completed by 5pm on Wednesday 31 July 2024.
