Support for emerging music and sound artists

The Oram Awards 2024 are now open for applications, continuing their mission to celebrate innovative music creators from underrepresented gender groups.

Named after the pioneering composer Daphne Oram, these awards recognise emerging women, trans, non-binary, and gender-expansive artists who excel in music, sound, and related technologies.

Successful applicants receive a £1000 bursary and mentorship opportunities to further their creative and professional skills.

Who can apply?

Applicants for the UK category of the Oram Awards 2024 must be based in the UK and at least 18 years old. Applications from across the UK are encouraged, with a particular interest in those from underrepresented regions.

There is an opportunity for those based outside of the UK to be supported via a nomination process in partnership with British Council.

The awards aim to spotlight new talents rather than established artists, prioritising those who aren't yet supported by major talent development programmes.

The deadline for applications is Tuesday 4 June 2024.
