Innovate UK is investing up to £1 million to fund collaborative research and development (CR&D) projects in industrial research

This competition is for UK businesses that want to apply to the Eureka Disaster Resilience Programme CR&D 2024 call. It aims to support international projects that develop innovative products, processes, or services in the field of disaster resilience, response, and recovery.

UK applicants can receive up to £250,000 per project, covering up to 70% of project costs depending on business size. Projects can last up to 24 months, with start dates from 1 June 2025.

Projects should target at least one of the following areas:

  • innovative and resilient construction - advanced building materials, disaster-resilient designs, seismic isolation technologies
  • digital technologies - early-warning systems, AI-based sensing algorithms, advanced geographic information systems
  • search and rescue - intelligent drone systems, portable detection devices
  • resilient communications - non-interruptible communication systems, alternative energy sources
  • health - mobile medical devices, environmental disinfection technologies, resilient health infrastructures
  • post-disaster waste management - safe demolition technologies, circular economy solutions for construction waste

To be eligible, projects must be collaborative and include at least one UK registered micro, small, or medium-sized enterprise (SME) and at least one partner from another participating Eureka country.

How to apply

UK lead applicants must submit applications to Innovate UK and the overall project team must submit the Eureka project application form to the Eureka website.

The deadline for applications is 11am, Thursday 31 October 2024.
