Call for breakthrough technologies to address challenges in mental health

The Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) Healthcare Competition 27 is now open, inviting businesses to submit innovative solutions aimed at improving mental health support for working-age individuals.

This initiative, part of the Accelerated Access Collaborative and in partnership with NHS England's Digital Innovation Team, focuses on digital interventions that can make a real difference in the workplace.

Key areas of focus include:

  • solutions that help working-age individuals (aged 16-64) with mental health issues stay in their jobs by addressing work-related challenges
  • innovations designed to assist unemployed individuals in overcoming barriers to employment and finding new job opportunities
  • initiatives that address workplace issues for working-age individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds, helping them to find and keep jobs

Applicants can receive up to £200,000 (net, excluding VAT) for projects lasting up to 12 months.

The competition is open to a variety of organisations, including private sector businesses, charities, universities, and NHS providers based in the UK or European Union. A strong commercial strategy and clear benefits to the NHS are required.

The application window closes at 1pm on 13 November 2024.
