Skill Up programme offers free training courses for 2024-25

Wide range of fully funded training courses are available for the 2024-25 academic year.

Skill Up is a fully funded initiative from the Department for the Economy and the Northern Ireland Office. The programme offers further and higher education training places in a wide range of subject areas for accredited qualifications ranging from Level 1 to Level 7.

Most courses will be delivered online and will provide an opportunity to re-skill and upskill your staff in areas where job growth is expected contribute to the development of the Northern Ireland economy.

How can Skill Up help my business?

The programme aims to help individuals boost their skillset. It also addresses skills gaps in the local economy to help businesses access talent with the skills required to grow their industry. Businesses can use this programme by encouraging their staff to make use of the free training available to develop their skills.

What subjects are available?

Opportunities are available from entry to postgraduate levels, focusing on skills identified by industry, linked to priority economic sectors, including:

  • green skills
  • software
  • advanced manufacturing
  • childcare
  • health and social care
  • hospitality
  • transversal skills

Places are now available to apply for in the coming academic year beginning in September 2024.
