Events and funding to help UK researchers and businesses join Horizon Europe

The UK government is boosting support for researchers, innovators, and businesses to access Horizon Europe, the world’s largest research and development (R&D) programme with £80 billion in funding available until 2027.

Horizon Europe offers grants to fund projects tackling major challenges like healthcare, green energy, and advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence.

New initiatives for 2025 include:

Horizon Europe roadshows - events in Wales and London offering advice on funding applications and networking opportunities
brokerage events - trips to Italy, Germany, and Spain to connect UK researchers and businesses with European partners
PR campaign - a fresh marketing drive to encourage more UK organisations to apply for Horizon funding

A range of support is already available including:

travel grants - up to £700 to help innovators attend R&D events in Europe
Horizon Europe Hour - monthly sessions with informal discussions and expert Q&As
pump-priming grants - up to £5,000 for SMEs to prepare Horizon Europe proposals
