Grants for collaborative R&D projects

Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation, is investing up to £5 million in collaborative innovation projects with Singapore.

The initiative aims to support industrial research projects that lead to new products, industrial processes, or services with high market potential.

To qualify, UK registered organisations must partner with at least one non-linked Singapore business, which will seek funding through Enterprise Singapore.

Innovate UK will provide funding to the UK applicants, who can apply for grants up to £750,000 per project. Singapore partners will receive their funding from Enterprise Singapore.

This competition has an open scope. Eligible projects should be business-led and demonstrate innovative technological development. Applications are particularly encouraged from sectors such as:

  • advanced manufacturing and materials
  • agrifood tech
  • mobility and transport
  • cyber security
  • health and life sciences

Projects must showcase a disruptive innovative idea, a robust business plan with market potential, sound financial plans, and a clear route to market within two to three years post-completion.

Projects must be independently selected by both Innovate UK and Enterprise Singapore to be awarded funding. The collaboration should offer significant economic benefits to both countries and demonstrate effective intellectual property management.

The deadline for applications is 11am on Wednesday 28 August 2024.
