Support for women entrepreneurship

InterTradeIreland, in partnership with Invest Northern Ireland and Enterprise Ireland, has introduced eight new programmes to support and empower women entrepreneurs across the island of Ireland.

These programmes provide a wide range of training and support aimed at promoting collaboration, learning, and business growth. Their main goal is to help women entrepreneurs overcome challenges, explore new opportunities, and grow their businesses on an all-island basis.

Below is an overview of each programme.

Angel Investor Masterclasses

Designed for aspiring and established angel investors, this programme offers key insights into investment strategies. Participants will enhance their financial literacy, understand the intricacies of angel investing, and learn how to leverage corporate expertise to back innovative start-ups.

Deal Leader Training Programme

This initiative focuses on equipping women angels with the skills to evaluate investment opportunities, conduct thorough due diligence, and make informed investment decisions. It's a valuable resource for those looking to deepen their expertise in the investment landscape.

Engage

A short but structured programme, Engage is designed to help women entrepreneurs identify new business opportunities and overcome unique entrepreneurial challenges.

Evolve

Spanning ten weeks, Evolve supports women in developing spin-out ventures using proven start-up tools and methodologies. Participants gain access to entrepreneurial role models and guest speakers, providing invaluable insights throughout their journey.

Grow It

Grow It is tailored for business owners, founders, and directors ready to scale their operations. The programme focuses on boosting sales and marketing efforts across the island, providing the tools necessary to drive business expansion.

SheScales

SheScales offers targeted support for women entrepreneurs, focusing on developing strategies to scale businesses sustainably. Participants will work on honing essential skills and adopting practices that promote long-term growth and sustainability.

Spark It

For women with pre-revenue business ideas, Spark It offers crucial support to help refine concepts, secure external investment, and move closer to market readiness.

Innovation Labs 1

This programme teaches women founders to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) tools for business efficiencies, market research, and innovation. It includes hands-on learning with no-code, low-code, and GenAI tools.

The Women's Entrepreneurship programmes are funded through the Shared Island Enterprise Scheme, as part of the wider Shared Island priorities funding. The initial funding will support these pilot projects to inform future programmes.
