Use the ICO's new privacy notice generator

Need a bespoke privacy notice for your small organisation?

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has introduced a new privacy notice generator, replacing its previous template. This tool is designed for sole traders, start-ups, small to medium-sized businesses, and charities, ensuring your organisation complies with the law.

The tool offers two versions:

• for customer and supplier information
• for staff and volunteer information

You can use the tool to create a privacy notice in 10 to 15 minutes or to assess if your current notice is up to date.

Sector-specific versions for customer and supplier information are available for the following sectors:

• professional services (including finance, insurance, and legal services)
• education and childcare
• health and social care
• charity and voluntary sectors

Since being published in May 2024, the privacy notice generator has been updated based on feedback, with revisions to content on lawful bases, international transfers, data sharing, and individual rights.
